Knoxville Business Manager Craig Mobley gave an update on the Knoxville Annual Financial Report at the most recent school board meeting. Mobley reported that the school district financial metrics are strong.
Knoxville School Superintendent Cassi Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS News, “Craig does a fantastic job and I think it’s important for our community to know that the state would allow us to spend $26.5 million every year. We actually spent $22.5 million because like Craig talked about we keep roughly $4 million in reserve that would hold us through about 90 days, half a school year. So if there were a natural disaster or something when the economy goes crazy we know we can continue to operate our school district for our students for that amount of time.”
Pearson noted that the school district is in good shape financially speaking.
