The Knoxville Football Squad is back home tonight in Ken Locke Stadium, and for the first time this season, the Panthers will play a class 3A school. Fairfield is the opponent and after running a gauntlet of 4A teams in Newton, Oskaloosa and Carlisle and not finding a lot of success on the scoreboard, the Panthers hope the offense gets a spark and defense keeps the Trojans at bay. Knoxville will have to contend with a dual threat quarterback as Fairfield’s Tate Allen, according to Panthers Coach Matt Dunkin can run and throw well and that he says will put a lot on the defense to keep him corralled.
Dunkin: “He’s definitely one of their playmakers and the decisions he makes out there. They also have a wingback/tight end #1 and trying to limit how many touches he gets on Friday.
Knoxville was held completely in check last week at Carlisle as the Wildcats held the Panthers to -18 yards rushing. Dunkin adds they have put in a few for things on offense to hopefully get the offense on track. Listen for the call on 95.3 KNIA at 6:30 also be listening at around 7:00 for the finale of the Knoxville Cancer Relay as they deliver the game ball for tonight’s game.
