The unemployment rate remained low in August, according to the latest data from Iowa Workforce Development.
In Marion County, the percentage is at 2.1%, up from 1.9% in July and a decrease from 3% in August 2021. There are 18,670 employed residents and 400 individuals seeking work and receiving benefits.
In Warren County, the percentage stayed at 2.5% from July to August, and was at 3.5% in August 2021. There are 28,400 employed residents and 700 individuals seeking work and receiving benefits.
Iowa’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased to 2.6 percent in August, which was 2.5 in July and 4.3 percent one year ago. The August national unemployment rate increased to 3.7 percent.
