pleasantville-3

The Pleasantville football team is hoping to bounce back from a 35-13 loss against Sigourney-Keota last week in their Homecoming game tonight against Central Decatur.

The Trojans struggled to match the physicality of the Cobras last week, as Sigourney-Keota ran the ball for 344 yards and three touchdowns. Pleasantville will face a much different opponent tonight, as Central Decatur is much more effective in the passing game. The Cardinals have thrown for twice as many yards than they have rushed for in the first four weeks of the season. With an 0-1 record in district play, head coach Mack Jorth knows the implications another loss would have on the Trojans’ postseason aspirations and says that getting back on track starts by forgetting about the results of last week’s game.

“Yeah, we started talking about that immediately after the game, we just got to flush that one and move forward. We gotta get healthy mentally, we gotta get healthy physically, and we got to be ready to play good football. And we’re going to, we’re going to learn from the tape, we’re going to see what areas we got to continue to find ways to improve, and we got to be ready for real good Central Decatur team. Every game matters. Playoff implications, every game has playoff implications. We got to be ready to go every single week and this is absolutely no different than any other week, and we’ve got to bring our absolute A game and work all week on becoming the best we can be and improving in the areas we definitely need to improve in.”

Pleasantville’s Homecoming football game against Central Decatur kicks off tonight at 7 p.m.
