Two Norwalk boys golfers placed in the top four and the Warriors finished second out of three teams at Wednesday’s Little Hawkeye Conference Fall Classic. The meet was held at Willow Creek Golf Course in West Des Moines.
Indianola shot a score of 301 to edge Norwalk by just three strokes for the team title. Dallas Center-Grimes took third with a 315.
The Warriors were paced by sophomore Grady Sigrist, who placed third with a round of 73. Senior Braden Nicholson placed fourth with a 75 and junior Owen Lux won the JV portion of the meet with a 76. Also shooting in the 70s were Cael Sherwood (78), Braylon Stockwell (78) and Ryan Jermier (79).
Norwalk will now turn its attention to the Class 4A District Tournament in Council Bluffs on Tuesday, October 4, needing a top-three finish to qualify for state. The district meet will be held at Bent Tree Golf Club starting at 10:00 a.m.
