Pella in Pink returned with friends, family, medical staff, and others supporting survivors of breast cancer and programs available at Pella Regional Health Center Sunday afternoon. Approximately 125 people turned out at Cordova Park at Lake Red Rock for a ceremony to honor those survivors and to walk to raise funds to support ongoing efforts to treat breast cancer at the hospital. Alison Smith is a radiologist at Pella Regional, and says seeing such a large turnout after two years away from the event was encouraging, as doctors and medical personnel work to get women back into their doors for screenings after two-and-a-half years of challenge due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In total, $25,000 was raised to support breast cancer treatment at Pella Regional.
