A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at the new Knoxville Middle School Friday along with a tour of the facility.
The Knoxville Community School District opened the building to the public following the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for students, families, alumni and community members to tour the facility.
Knoxville School Superintendent Cassi Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS News about the ribbon cutting and open house, “We had a fantastic crowd. I’ve been in a lot of ribbon cuttings, I’ve never seen a crowd this big. We filled the bleachers in the new middle school and that is over 900 spots.”
Brian McNeill, Knoxville MiddleSchool Principal added, “I think this is a great event not only for the community and our students, just everybody. It’s colorful, it’s bright, everyone is here, everybody is happy. It’s just really awesome everyone came out to share this with us tonight.”
Pearson said the school looks to open October 12.
