The Tulip City volleyball rivalry renewed, and as it has been for several years, it was advantage Dutch 3-1 over the Eagles (25-21, 19-25, 25-21, 25-21) Monday evening.

Most of the sets stayed fairly close late heading toward the 20th point, only for the victorious team to pull away in each to get to 25. Pella fed off of many of those on the same evening they celebrated their graduating members of the Class of ’23.

Mia Warner finished with 20 kills, with Bryn Higginbotham adding six. Emma Eekhoff led Pella Christian with 13 kills and four aces, followed by Maggie Heinen and her 10 kills, and four aces from Emma Zula and Chloe Huisman, the latter of whom added 38 assists.

The Dutch improve to 11-9 overall and 3-3 in the Little Hawkeye Conference, while the Eagles fall to 18-10 and 3-3 against league foes; Pella will host their home tournament this Saturday, while P.C. is off until they host #9 in 4A Norwalk on Tuesday, October 11th.
