The Indianola boys golf team qualified as a team to the state meet in their qualifying district in Council Bluffs Tuesday shooting a 288, while the Norwalk boys squad was just six shots away from qualifying with a 6th place finishing shooting a 308.
The Indians were led by first place finishes from Preston Bily and Jackson Overton who each shot 65, that included a hole-in-one shot from Bily, and Graham Hilton and Tyler Santi both shot 79 to help pace the squad. Head coach Anthony Gallagher tells KNIA Sports his guys worked on hitting the course each day and improving as a team, with the plan to peak around this time of the year.
Norwalk was led by Grady Sigrist and Ryan Jermier who each shot a 74 on the day, and the Norwalk season comes to a close with a graduating senior class of four.
The state meet is this Friday and Saturday at Elmcrest Country Club in Cedar Rapids.
