After righting the ship quickly against Pleasantville last week after a tough two-point loss to Sigourney-Keota, the #9 in Class 1A Pella Christian football team is working to continue building momentum at home against Cardinal in Class 1A District 6 action tonight.
The matchup is lopsided heading in — the 0-6 Comets have struggled to find their footing in 2022, and have been outscored 206-59 in their six contests, while the Eagles still boast a top three rushing attack in Class 1A (1870 yards – 3rd most, 9.1 yards per carry – best, and 30 touchdowns- 2nd most) — and the Eagles have the 2nd most offensive yards among same-class schools (2416).
Cardinal’s top playmakers are Craig Miller (349 yards, 6 yards per carry), Chase Johnson (14 catches, 166 yards, TD), and Isaac Lett (147 yards receiving, TD).
Coverage from Eagle Lane begins at 6:30 this evening on the KRLS2 stream and Pella Christian High School YouTube.
