For the second consecutive season, the Pleasantville football team finds themselves entering tonight’s week seven matchup with Van Buren in a must win situation.
Much like last season, the Trojans enter the game with an 0-3 record in district play after falling 54-7 to Pella Christian last Friday. Meanwhile, Van Buren comes into the matchup at 1-2 after defeating Cardinal 22-16 two weeks ago. In order to keep their postseason aspirations alive, Pleasantville needs to win their games tonight and next week. History does favor the Trojans in the must-win game tonight, as they have won all three meetings against the Warriors. Pleasantville won last year’s game 45-8 and shut out Van Buren 27-0 back in 1999 and 33-0 in 1998.
Kickoff tonight between the Trojans and Warriors at Pleasantville Stadium is at 7 p.m.
