The postseason begins for the Tulip City volleyball teams, who both aim to play more of a spoiler role and would need some upsets to find themselves with the Little Hawkeye Conference tournament trophy later today in Indianola.
Both the Eagles (18-11 overall) and Dutch (16-10) have generally played well to end the 2022 regular season, although both were 3-4 in the league–tying for 5th, with Pella getting the seeding advantage in today’s pool brackets based on their head-to-head win over P.C. early last week.
Pella Christian has lost three in row after getting to a 12 game winning streak heading into the finals of the Greene County tournament — although those losses have come to Pella and earlier this week, #8 in 4A Norwalk; the Dutch had won six in a row, including against four ranked foes at their home invitational, before falling to #5 in 4A Indianola on the road earlier this week.
The Little Hawkeye Conference volleyball tournament begins at 4:30 this afternoon at Indianola High School.
