After gracing the skies of Winterset for over 30 years, the Des Moines Skydivers announced that they broke ground on a brand new hangar at the Knoxville Airport.

The club plans to move during the off-season and be operational at the new facility at the start of the 2023 season. The target date for starting in Knoxville is April 1st.

Randy Roth,a member of the Des Moines Skydivers Club tells KNIA/KRLS News one of the reasons why the group looks forward to working out of Knoxville, “We’ve been able to get a hanger area laid out with a very large landing area, 600,000 square foot landing area that’s nice and flat.”

The club has leased land adjacent to the airport and plans to build a clubhouse and private campsite in the future.
