Twin Cedars Cross Country Runner Rylee Dunkin has become a four-time State Qualifier as she finished fourth at the class one-A State Qualifier on Thursday at Leon. Dunkin’s time was 20:38. Teammate Cheyanne Bruns just missed out on a spot with an 11th place finish in a time of 22:30. Other finishers for the Sabers were Jayden Weldon in 68th with a time of 36:27. Dunkin will run in the class 1A girls race next Friday at Fort Dodge. While no Melcher-Dallas or Pleasantville Cross Country Runners made the class 1A State Meet, there were significant improvements on many runners’ times. Melcher-Dallas’ Hailey Stegman placed 21st in a time of 23:44. Coach Amy Stuart told KNIA Sports with her first year of high school cross country in the books, her goal next season is to make a run at State. For the Pleasantville girls the Trojans placed 8th led by Kyleigh McConnell in 38th with a time of 25:12, Ashlyn McConnell was 42nd with a time of 25:39, Carly Gripp was 44th in a time of 25:54, Sophia Mason came in 53rd in a time of 26:50, Payton Seuferer was 61st in 27:52, and Madilyn Rowson 62nd in 28:00. For the boys, Pleasantville was 11th led by Kurt Kuhnen in 25th at 19:27, Jenkin Fulmer was 47th in a time of 21:00 Morrison Fulmer placed 54th in 21:38, Ethan King was 58th in a time of 21:53, Jaydin Boone was 66th with tine of 22:24, and Brock Jones was 71st with a time of 23:33.
