Twin Cedars won while Melcher-Dallas lost the final football game of the season as our Marion COunty 8 man teams concluded their seasons on Thursday. The Sabers walked off the field for the final time in 2022 as a winner as they defeated Seymour on Thursday night 42-38. The Sabers struggled to score in the 1st half due to turnovers and penalties but turned it on in the 2nd half only to see the Warriors make a frantic comeback in the late stages. Twin Cedars held off Seymour on its last drive to prevail. Twin Cedars finishes with a 2-8 record.
Meanwhile, The Melcher-Dallas Football Squad fell in its final game of the season on Thursday night 54-30 to Lamoni. The Saints and Demons traded scores throughout the 1st half with the game tied at 30 at the halftime break. However, Lamoni would score 24 unanswered points in the 2nd half to pull away. The Saints finish the season at 3-6.
