The Marion County Sheriff’s Office promoted Jenae Kaster to the position of Mental Health Deputy.

According to Marion County Sheriff Jason Sandholdt, Kaster is believed to be the first Mental Health Deputy in the State.

Sandholt said, “The whole position is designed in connection with our Cross Mental Health Region. So, we are very fortunate to be able to use some Mental Health funding to pay for that deputy position.”

According to Sandholdt the hire should be able to better serve the citizens of Marion County. Kaster was hired in June.
