The Knoxville Football Squad found the top ranked Harlan Cyclones too tough to handle in a 49-0 loss heard live on 95.3 KNIA. Harlan got the scoring started on its first play from scrimmage from 57 yards out and added 35 points in the first quarter to take away any doubt. Knoxville did have a drive deep into Harlan territory only to be turned away on an interception just before halftime. Another drive stalled after Luka DeJong missed a 47 yard field goal in the 3rd quarter. Coach Matt Dunkin told KNIA/KRLS Sports his offense was where they needed to be but Harlan was too big and strong on most plays.
Dunkin: “I thought offensively up front and our line played well, granted they were going up against some dudes, and they just need to finish stuff.”
Brenden Woolsey was 13/29 for 64 yards and Connor Willis caught eight passes for 37 yards. Knoxville finishes the season with a 1-8 record.
