The Knoxville Fire Department has started an Explorer program. It’s a program to get young people who might be interested in becoming a firefighter or EMS in the future to get hands on experience.
There will be an Explorer meeting at the Knoxville Fire Department Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
Knoxville Fire Department Battalion Chief Trenton Bacus tells KNIA/KRLS News, “With the Explorer Program, I think it’s going to be a great thing for Knoxville. What we’re trying to do is get young people involved within the fire service.”
Exploring provides activities and mentorship for youth looking to discover their future. The program is for individuals between the ages of 10 to 20.
