The Indianola Police Department has been nominated for the Aftermath K9 Grant, which will go towards the reinstatement of the Indianola Police Department K9 program.
The grant will be awarded to whichever department across the nation receives the most votes from the public, and the IPD is asking for help in the voting process.
Chief Brian Sher tells KNIA News the K-9 program will serve Indianola by helping to locate lost and at-risk individuals, help stop the flow of illegal drugs in the community, and assist in community outreach and policing efforts.
Voting is open through October 31st. Find more information about voting below.
