Tomorrow, the #11 ranked Pella Christian girls cross country team will run at the State Meet for the first time since 2008.

While the Eagles girls haven’t sent a team to Fort Dodge in 14 years, P.C. has qualified individuals for State over that time span. Last October, Joslyn Terpstra and Jaclyn Holmes became the most recent Eagles to make State as individuals. While Terpstra and Holmes were happy to represent Pella Christian in Fort Dodge last year, they’re even more excited to share that joy as a team this fall.

Terpstra: “It’s so exciting. Obviously, we were still happy last year, but at the same time heartbroken that we weren’t gonna be running with our team. And I love running with Jaclyn, but just having the whole team around us is just so amazing.

Holmes: “It just makes it a little bit sweeter just knowing that we can go as a team and not just as individuals.”

The Class 2A Girls State Meet is tomorrow at Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge at 2 p.m.
