For the second consecutive year, enrollment is slightly up in the Pella Community School District. At this week’s meeting, Superintendent Greg Ebeling says the school board reviewed the certified count — which showed an increase in 42 full-time students, mainly coming from open enrollees. Ebeling says the count made on October 1st is what will be used for per pupil funding in the general fund, which is mainly used for teacher, staff, and administrator salaries, on top of any increase approved by the Iowa Legislature in January.
