The unemployment rate remained low in September, according to the latest data from Iowa Workforce Development.
In Marion County, the percentage is at 1.7%, down from 2.1% in August and a decrease from 2.4% in September 2021. There are 19,330 employed residents and 330 individuals seeking work and receiving benefits.
In Warren County, the percentage dropped to 2.1% from 2.5% in August, and was at 2.9% this time last year. There are 28,500 employed residents and 600 individuals seeking work and receiving benefits.
Iowa’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased to 2.7 percent in August, which was 2.6 in July and 4.1 percent one year ago. The August national unemployment rate decreased to 3.5 percent.
