Merry N County Christmas is put on in a partnership between Thrive Knoxville and the Marion County Historical Society. The event runs every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from Friday, November 18th through December 18th. It will also be open on Friday Dec 23rd and Saturday Dec 24th.
The Marion County Park will be open to drive through from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm each evening. Admission is based on a free will donation with the money going to help cover operating costs as well as benefit the Marion County Historical Society and Thrive Knoxville.
This will be the third year for the festival. Aaron Carlson one of the event coordinators tells KNIA/KRLS News, the event has continues to grow each year. This year Merry N County Christmas has expanded the route through the Marion County Park campground due to increased displays so visitors will be seeing a lot of changes and new displays.
Carlson explains the event, “It is a drive-thru lighted holiday Christmas light display that we feel is pretty unique.”
It is unique from the aspect that it is two non-profit groups coming together for families to enjoy. While touring the park, tune in to 95.3 FM KNIA to enjoy Christmas music.
