An illustrious runner’s career came to an end over the weekend as Twin Cedars’ Rylee Dunkin ran in her final cross country race for the Sabers at the class 1A State Meet on Friday. While Dunkin’s goal of a 4th all-state did not materialize, she did not let that dampen her pride of running for a small school and hopes to represent Twin Cedars more this school year as she continues senior year for the Sabers.
Dunkin: “THis sport has taught me a lot and accomplish your goals. You can’t just come up here and run, you have to put in the work and make small goals, and it’s been fun to represent Twin Cedars and it was really fun running up here as a Saber.”
Dunkin finished 20th on Friday. She will start basketball season in a few weeks, then try to get back to the Blue Oval in the spring, before closing out her athletic career defending a state title in softball this summer.
