The scoreboard might be moving just a bit as the #6 Eagles football team from Pella Christian travels west to take on the #2 Eagles of Underwood this Friday with a trip to the UNI Dome on the line.
The hosts from Underwood are undefeated — their only loss to 4A Lewis Central in week zero was changed to a scrimmage due to game limits, and those Eagles boast a high octane, yet balanced, offensive attack that will be hard to slow down.
No. 1 in yards (5,325) and scoring (78 touchdowns), Underwood is led by star quarterback Alex Ravlin, who in his senior campaign, has thrown for 2,214 yards and 30 touchdowns. The balance for the Eagles comes from Maddox Nelson, who averages nine yards per carry and has scored 13 times on the ground, and a deep receiving corps led by Mason Boothby and his 690 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Pella Christian counters with what has been the 2nd best rushing attack in 1A at 294 yards per game and 2nd most efficient offense at 399 yards per game. The Eagles have scored the 5th most points per game in Class 1A as well.
What should be an offensive thriller out west will begin at 7 p.m. this Friday, with pregame coverage beginning at 6:30 on 92.1 KRLS.
