The Indianola volleyball team had their season come to a close Tuesday night in the class 4A quarterfinal round at state, and are well prepared to continue a strong run in the future.

The Indians graduate a senior class of three including starters Kailey Peters and Gillian Smith, but will have the majority of their top statistical leaders coming back. The Indians return their top two leaders in kills in Aspen Nelson and Camryn Overton, while Tori Runyan also returns after being third in class 4A in assists with 823. Digs leader Brynn Bishop will also return, as well as Dana Blake who was third on the squad.

Head coach Kent Halstead tells KNIA Sports while the Indians do bring back a lot of returning talent, nothing will be just given to them.

“Think about our team next year, our ball control should be outstanding and our setting should be outstanding. But every team thinks they are going to be better next year and every team thinks it’s going to be their year, so it’s going to be up to us to make that happen.”

The Indians went 37-7 on the season, leading class 4A in wins.
