Knoxville Area Community Theatre will raise the curtain on their production of The Wizard of Oz this week. The show will be performed at the Knoxville Performing Arts Center November 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th. Show times are 7:00 pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. There are also 2:00 pm matinees Saturday and Sunday.

The musical is being produced in cooperation with the Knoxville Community School District, and it features performers and crew from Knoxville, Marion County and the surrounding area.

RaShaun Boyer plays the role of Dorothy Gale, who is swept up by a tornado into a far-off land full of surprises and adventure.

Boyer will be joined by Greg May as the Wizard, Kristy Bennett as the Wicked Witch, Sara Collins as the Scarecrow, Kamron Warden as the Tin Man, Jana DeZwarte as the Lion, Phyllis Boyer as Glinda, and Brian Black as Uncle Henry. Understudies will perform many of these roles during the 2:00 pm matinee performance on Saturday.

Supporting cast members include Noa Bauer, Denise Becker, Kadyn Boyd, Taylor Caron, Kim Collins, Evie Ethell, James Good, Emily Humeston, Scott Humeston, Mary Kramer, Stephanie Lantz, Aliana Pearson, Chloe Roff, Lily Steenhoek, Robin Stoner, Rachael Stoops, Eli Swersie, Ender Swersie, Jenny Swersie, Rachel Swersie, Leo Vermeer, and Mia Yocum.
