The Science Club of Knoxville will be headed to Kansas City today. Teacher Ryan Richardson lists a few of the items on the agenda for the trip.
The agenda includes going to a milk testing laboratory, a kayak boat dealership, an art museum, the Kansas City Zoo, Union Station Science Museum, a Planetarium and the National World War I Memorial.
Richardson tells KNIA/KRLS News about one of the visits in Kansas City, “While we’re in Kansas City all of this weekend, we’ll be seeing a milk quality testing laboratory. They test milk for about six states, making sure it’s microbially safe to drink. I’m interested in the microbiology idea they will present to us. Also we will get ideas about just being employed in a science professional field. Hopefully our students enjoy that stop.”
Richardson says the trip will be educational. There will be 13 students making the trip from Knoxville. Normally more students are on the trip but some ninth grade students are finishing up a trip to Washington, DC this week as well. The group returns to Knoxville Sunday.
