A resolution was approved by the Pella City Council at their meeting this week for a contract for extending a Pella Fiber Transport Network line to Indianola Municipal Utilities. City Administrator Mike Nardini says the agreement with Kramer Service Group is for $1.84 million — approximately $500,000 less than the engineer’s estimate, and will be slated for completion by October 2023. The city is splitting the cost with IMU. Nardini says the new line will provide needed redundancy for the network and allow for potential expansion of the service outside of the city limits long term.
