The Indianola City Council met in regular session Monday. The council approved an ordinance amending the use of fireworks within city limits, limiting the use of fireworks to July 3rd and 4th, in addition to New Year’s Eve, instead of an outright ban.

The council also approved an appointment to the Indianola Public Arts Commission, discussed the sidewalks on the Hillcrest Reconstruction Project, approved a special event application for the Home for the Holidays event on the downtown square, and the purchase of a K9 patrol vehicle for the Indianola Police Department.

The council also met in a study session, receiving the Veteran’s Memorial Aquatic Center Annual Report, the Indianola Public Library’s Annual Report, and discussed the Indianola downtown square.
