In honor of Veterans Day flags will be raised at Graceland Cemetery at 7 a.m. Thursday. There will be a brief memorial ceremony at the Veteran’s Plot after the flag raising.

.There will be a free breakfast at the VFW for all participants following the ceremony.

Michael Kuhn, who is in charge of Veterans Affairs in Knoxville, tells KNIA/KRLS News about the tradition of honoring the veterans, “Annually we raise flags at Graceland Cemetery every November. This month it will be on Thursday, the 10th of November at 7 a.m.”

Flags will be taken down at 3 p.m. Monday, November 14th. The American Legion, VFW, Boy and Girl Scouts will all participate in the event honoring the veterans.
