Pella Christian alumni Alejo Marcon enjoyed a fantastic senior season last year on both the soccer pitch and tennis court on Eagle Lane. This fall Marcon’s talents were shown on the Central College men’s soccer team.
Marcon played 863 minutes for the Dutch this season, seeing action in all 16 contests and starting in 11 of the matches. The freshman scored his first and only collegiate goal in Central’s 3-0 victory against Buena Vista on October 19th and dished out three assists on the season which was tied for the most on the team. While the goal was a highlight for his first season of collegiate soccer, Marcon said his favorite memory from the season was his assist in the final game of the season.
“My favorite play was that assist against Nebraska Wesleyan, where I stole the ball after a bad and he gave a pass to one of my teammates. I just enjoyed that moment because I thought it was a good play and I think it really supported the team trying to create.”
Marcon’s freshman soccer season came to an end on October 25th, and the Eagle alumni is now set to begin his collegiate tennis career at Central this spring.
