The Pella Public Library will continue its Culture Night Series with “Culture Night: Sri Lanka.” Assistant professor of Physics and Engineering at Central College Pavithra Premaratne will share stories and traditions of his home country of Sri Lanka on Monday, November 21 at 6:30 p.m.
Sri Lanka gained independence in 1948 and was called Ceylon until 1972. Recently, there have been dire financial problems causing economic hardship for its citizens.
Culture Night: Sri Lanka will take place in Room 206 of the Pella Community Center located at 712 Union St. This program is free and open to the public.
