Republicans performed very well in the Marion County election Tuesday. There were a total of 14,473 (58.72%) of registered voters who went to the polls. There are a total of 24,647 registered voters in the county.
Marion County Auditor Jake Grandia was pleased with the turnout. Grandia said they were very busy at the polls. The turnout at polling sites for in-person voting was very strong. Absentee ballots received in the county totaled 3,581. According to Grandia absentee returns were a little lower than in the past.
In summarizing the election Grandia tells KNIA/KRLS News, Marion County came out strong. Grandia thanks the voters for participating in the process as well as election officials and his office staff.
