Posting their best winning percentage since the 2016-2017 season, the Pella Christian volleyball program saw continued progress from their young squad this fall.
The Eagles went on a 12-match winning streak in the middle of the season from September 17th through October 1st, and also brought home a 3rd place finish at the Little Hawkeye Conference Tournament. While a progression in the skills for team helped contribute to the successes of the team this fall, Pella Christian head coach Tammi Wight believes that growth of the squad’s knowledge of the game played just as big of a factor.
“Besides progress as far as skill wise, I feel like we really progressed in learning the game. I do think that there was a lot of growth as far as just understanding their roles and then understanding the game as a whole and how everything fits together and how to make it better. And then also how to attack a team in a strategic way so that we can have a chance to be successful.”
Pella Christian finished the 2022 season with a 25-15 record overall and are expected to return 10 of the 13 girls from the varsity team next year.
