In a ceremony held this week, the Pella Rolscreen Foundation recognized its annual finalists and winners of the Joan Kuyper Farver Spirit Award.

Pella Resident Todd Pinegar was a finalist for the Spirit Award this year. He received a $10,000 grant that is being designated to the Pella Christian Clay Target Team.

Pella also awarded $10,000 on behalf of two other runners up and $1,000 grants on behalf of each of the 13 honorable mention nominees. Mike Faihst of Murray, KY, was this year’s winning recipient of the Joan Kuyper Farver Spirit Award, donating $25,000 in his name to the Murray-Calloway Community Theater.

Since 2018, the Joan Kuyper Farver Spirit Award has recognized Pella team members with a caring spirit and passion for community service. Winners receive a $25,000 grant for the non-profit organization of their choice, and each of the runners up receive a $10,000 grant to their organizations of choice

In 2022, the Pella Rolscreen Foundation provided more than $300,000 in direct grants to numerous organizations throughout the country. Additionally, Pella team members earned more than $150,000 in grants for their communities through exclusive Pella programs that offer a 1:1 match for donations to nonprofit organizations, as well as volunteerism grants.
