Living Windows was held yesterday in downtown Knoxville. The town square, including many storefront windows, were decorated for the theme of “Christmas Around the World.”

The festivities kicked off with the annual tree lighting ceremony on the Marion County Courthouse lawn.

Items were collected for our local military members serving overseas. Also on the agenda was a snowball drop, an appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus, a wreath auction benefiting the Knoxville Federated Garden Club and horse drawn carriage rides.

Santa and Mrs. Claus had some nice words to say about children in Knoxville and the surrounding area. In addition to a few Ho-Ho-Ho’s Santa tells KNIA/KRLS News, “I love coming to Knoxville, especially on the night of Living Windows. It’s one of my most favorite events of the year. I just love how people come out and have a good time and just celebrate the holidays”

Mrs. Claus told KNIA/KRLS News, “Knoxville’s our favorite place to visit every year.”

Living Windows was presented by the Knoxville Area Merchants and THRIVE Knoxville. Many businesses were open late.
