There are not a lot of numbers for the Twin Cedars Girls basketball program this season, but there are three familiar faces on the squad that know how to be successful. The Sabers were also greeted by a new coach as current cross country coach and Athletic Director Theresa Davis takes over the helm. Davis tells KNIA/KRLS Sports this year’s team will be quicker and that will allow the Sabers to go more up tempo than in the past.

Davis: “Saw some good things. We’re going to be quick. I think being quicker and playing with these seniors and moving the ball around is going to be a good thing for us.”

The three seniors are Rylee Dunkin, who averaged 10.2 points per game and led the team in assists with 49 and steals with 59. Cheyanne Bruns is another senior, whose long range shooting led to a team high 49 three point shots made last year, and Kisha Reed returns as she was the leading rebounder last season with a total of 147. Davis also sees potential in Kenzyn Roberts and Cristen Durian. Twin Cedars finished 16-8 last season and got to the Bluegrass Conference Tournament Championship game. The Sabers open up Tuesday against Orient-Macksburg.
