The Twin Cedars Girls Basketball Squad is preparing for the upcoming season opener on Tuesday. New Coach Theresa Davis has added an assistant she is excited to have as new Boys Head Coach Mateo Varese. Davis tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that having Varese is a big help in drawing up plays and having another set of eyes and a point of view to work with.

Davis: “I’m really going to rely on him. He’s a lot younger than me, and he’s seen more basketball than I have, he already has relationships built with the kids so it’ll be fun to work with Mateo.”

The Sabers get the season underway on Tuesday against Orient-Macksburg.
