The latest U.S. Drought Monitor Report shows all of south central Iowa remains in moderate drought. The weekly report shows much of the state still remains dry after a stretch of extended heat and a lack of rainfall this summer and fall. The next best chance for precipitation is this Saturday evening into Sunday morning and again Tuesday night into Wednesday, although no heavy amounts are expected, according to the National Weather Service.
