Outside of the Twin Cedars Boys Basketball inner circle, not much is expected from the Sabers. While they finished 7-15 last year, they lost one of the best players in the conference in Devin Arkema. First Year Head Coach Mateo Varese says, fine, he likes the fact that his team is not being talked about as a contender. He adds with not a lot of expectations outside of the Saber Gym, his guys can just play and do their thing.
Varese: “I love that people don’t see a lot out of us, that will help us. This year without Devin and Dallas they guys can play freely and we’ll see what the result is”
The Sabers get the season going this Tuesday as Twin Cedars will head to Wayne as part of a girls and boys double header.
