Mason Hatch, a Knoxville senior, performed at the Iowa All-State Chorus event held in Ames last week. It was the second year in a row where he has qualified for the prestigious event.
Hatch was joined at State by his high school choir director, Ian Heetland. He had two days of rehearsals prior to the big event Saturday, November 19 in Hilton Coliseum.
Hatch tells KNIA/KRLS News about his state experience, “It was a lot of fun. I really, really enjoyed it this year. It was obviously a lot of fun last year too, but this year was just, there was something about it. I don’t know if it was because it was my last time or not, but it was so much fun I’ll never forget it. I made a lot of good friends, the director was amazing. Just putting it all together on Saturday night and it gave me goosebumps, it was so cool.”
There were a total of 601 students who participated in the all-state chorus event in Ames.
