In an all-Marion County battle in Warren County on Tuesday, Pleasantville emerged as the victor in both games against Melcher-Dallas. The girls game went to the Trojans 41-36. The Trojans trailed most of the way, but came back from eight points down in the 4th quarter after Melcher-Dallas’s Addi Wadle fouled out. Joelle Johnson 21 points Hope DeMan scored 16. For the Saints Wadle scored 11 to lead Melcher-Dallas with Kasyn Reed scoring eight points and ten rebounds. In the boys game, Dayson Learhoff put in 30 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as Pleasantville defeated Melcher-Dallas 68-41. The game was broken open in the 2nd quarter when Pleasantville outscored the Saints 21-6. For the Saints, Owen Suntken scored 19 points. Coach John Suntken told KNIA Sports turnovers were their undoing in the 1st half. The Pleasantville girls will host Twin Cedars on Thursday while the boys will take on Earlham on Friday. Melcher-Dallas will travel to Ankeny Christian on Friday.
