Moderate drought remains in place locally throughout south central Iowa. The latest U.S. Drought Monitor Report shows a recent lack of precipitation has not severely impacted dry conditions as days get shorter and cooler. No rain or snow is in the short-term forecast, according to the National Weather Service.
