The Knoxville City Council met in regular session last night.
The council approved the second consideration and waived the third consideration, and adopted an ordinance providing for the division of taxes levied on taxable property in the 2022 Ridge Development Urban Renewal Area. There was also a public hearing on Ridge Development authorizing tax increment payments which were approved.
They looked at accepting work and approving the final cost of the 2022 Street Improvements Project. The street improvements were approved with a cost savings of $11,223 to the city.
Council discussed approved Elite Dance Pay Application #1. They discussed action for a Central Iowa Housing Trust Fund Grant in partnership with Habitat For Humanity Of Marion County. It was approved with a local match by the city of $20,600 plus $5,000 to the general fund.
They also looked at discussion on Downtown Building Revitalization Strategies for Fiscal Year 2024.No action took place.
There was a Public Works Budget presentation. Following discussion no action took place as it was tabled until around March.
