The Melcher-Dallas Basketball Squads will return to their temporary home at Southeast Warren ,but instead of being the home team, they will be the visitors as Melcher-Dallas and Southeast Warren battle in a non-conference basketball double header tonight. The Saint girls are 0-4 on the season and have had to deal with illness the last week but seem to be getting back together. Coach Kelsey Goff tells KNIA Sports Maddy DeJong hopes to be back and she should give the Saints an extra ball handler in addition to Addi Wadle.
Goff: “Hopefully just adding someone else. She can change the pace of our game, she can get steals and maybe a few baskets and that adds 6-8 points we didn’t have.”
The boys are coming off their first win of the season over Lamoni on Tuesday. Tip off is set for 6:00. Meanwhile, The Southeast Warren/Melcher-Dallas Wrestlers are in action in a quad at East Union. The Warhawks will be joined by Central Decatur and Moravia. The two Saints that are wearing green and white this winter that have wrestled varsity matches are Kael Caikoski who is 0-3 at 120 pounds and Connor Rauch, who is 3-0 at 195 pounds. First bouts are scheduled for 5:30.
