Through four games this season, the Pella Christian boys basketball team is still searching for consistency.
The Eagles responded from a tough season-opening loss with a pair of dominant wins but suffered their first setback in conference play last Friday. A major factor in the outcomes of the four contests for Pella Christian has been rebounding. The Eagles dominated the glass in their wins over PCM and Oskaloosa but were outrebounded in their losses to Norwalk and Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont. While rebounding isn’t the only thing that Pella Christian is looking to improve on, head coach J.D. Boer says it impact many of the facets of the game that the team has struggled with early in the season.
“You know what we’ve gotta work on, it feels like a lot if I’m being honest. It Feels like we gotta work on a lot of things. So, we’ll take a look at the film and just kinda start to figure things out. But one thing I do know is that our identity has to be on the defensive end and getting out and playing fast and our rebounding is what gets our offense going right. We need to rebound the ball so that we can get out in transition and play fast.”
The Eagles will look to turn things back around on Friday when they travel to Grinnell for a Little Hawkeye Conference doubleheader.
