The Indianola School Board met in regular session Tuesday. The board tabled the 2023-23 board tradition and year-round calendar after a discussion regarding teacher workload. The board also approved an update in the Indianola High School handbook regarding the language in the sexual harassment policy, trigonometry and pre-calculus counting for DMACC credit, and the implementation of the K-5 science program.
The board also set the 2023 summer and 2023-24 school year childcare rates, raising the rates by an average of 3%, and approved a contract change for the District Auxiliary Building Construction Project, and just under $10 million in general obligation bonds. The board also heard reports from the board finance, policy, and facilities committee meetings.
