The Marion County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday. The board discussed employee insurance benefits from Holmes Murphy Fiscal Year 2024. They discussed legislative priorities with Kelly Meyers, Skinner & Paschke, PLLC. A few of the issues that some departments were concerned about range from housing and child care to economic development

.Discussion on the Marion County Courthouse 3rd Floor Courtroom Remodeling Project included talk about getting the jury back into a jury box. The board discussed TIFF pertaining to the Pleasantville Adkins Development Project.

There was also preliminary discussion about the Fiscal Year 2024 Budget. 

The board approved Financial Commitment Pertaining to the Vacant Buildings Demolition Fund. There was an update on the Prairie Ridge Development Project with 30 homes currently under construction.

The board approved renewal for alcohol licenses for two businesses and approved a wine license amendment for a third.

The board of supervisors approved some ordinances and looked at the Marion County Zoning Board of Adjustment Reappointments. Reappointments were approved for Dale Miller, Sandy Agan and Sarah Treft.

There was a discussion on the VA Campus Update. The Knoxville Raceway is working on leasing land at the former VA property for parking near the railroad.
