The Indianola High School Jazz 1 and Jazz 2 Bands participated in the South Central Iowa Bandmasters Association Jazz Festival in Waukee last weekend, earning top ranks. The Jazz 1 band placed 6th out of 18 class 4A bands, the highest ranking for Jazz 1 at the SCIBA Jazz Festival in more than a decade. Three Jazz 1 students were awarded solo honors.

The Indianola Jazz 2 Band placed 5th out of 12 class 4A 2nd Jazz Bands, also the highest placement for Jazz 2 in more than a decade, earning four solo awards.

The South Central Iowa Band Association Honor Band will have its annual festival on January 7th at Ankeny High School.
